Jeon So Nee, Lee Yoo Mi, Jang Seung Jo, and Lee Moo Saeng Each Guard Chilling Secrets in Netflix’s “As You Stood By”
Netflix has unveiled tense new stills for “As You Stood By,” a psychological thriller adapted from Hideo Okuda’s novel “Naomi and Kanako.” Directed by Lee Jung Rim of “VIP” and “Revenant,” the series tracks two women pushed to the edge, where a single, irreversible choice becomes their only escape.
Jeon So Nee stars as Jo Eun Su, a sharp assistant manager on a luxury department store’s VIP team. Beneath her composure lies deep concern for her best friend, Jo Hui Su—played by Lee Yoo Mi—whose visible injuries and fear hint at a dangerous truth the pair can no longer outrun. As they forge a pact to break free from a nightmare, their bond is tested by a spiral of consequences.
Jang Seung Jo heightens the suspense as Noh Jin Pyo, radiating menace with a razor-sharp gaze. Adding a twist, he also portrays Jang Kang, a man with the same face but a contrasting presence—inviting questions about identity, power, and the shadows that bind them.
Lee Moo Saeng’s Jin So Baek watches from unsettling proximity, his unreadable expression signaling motives that could either fracture or fortify the two women’s fragile alliance.
The stills also spotlight the families encircling the leads: Kim Mi Kyung as Eun Su’s mother Gye Soon, holding steady even in quiet moments; Kim Mi Sook as Jin Pyo’s mother Jung Sook; and Lee Ho Jung as his younger sister Noh Jin Young—each carrying a stoic weight that hints their roles may cut deeper than they appear.
With its layered character work, dual-role intrigue, and escalating stakes, “As You Stood By” is shaping up to be a gripping study of desperation, loyalty, and the cost of liberation. The series is set to premiere on November 7.
