Nana Counter-Sued for Attempted Murder by Home Invasion Suspect

Agency Condemns "Secondary Harm" as Public Rallies Behind Robbery Victim

Singer-turned-actress Nana is facing a counter lawsuit from the man who broke into her home and assaulted her mother last year, her agency SUBLIME Artist confirmed Friday.

The suspect, a man in his thirties, was detained in November on charges of armed robbery causing injury after allegedly entering the Guri residence Nana shares with her mother while carrying a weapon. According to police reports, the intruder assaulted Nana's mother after encountering her inside the home.

Nana, who was asleep at the time, awoke to her mother's screams. Together, the two women restrained the suspect and contacted authorities. The perpetrator sustained a cut to his jaw during the struggle, which police determined was inflicted in self-defense. Neither Nana nor her mother were charged.

However, the case has taken an unexpected turn. The detained suspect has now filed a separate complaint accusing Nana of attempted murder and aggravated assault, claiming her response was excessive—a stark reversal from his initial confession.

SUBLIME Artist strongly rejected the allegations in an official statement released January 2. "Nana and her family suffered severe physical and psychological harm during the attack by an assailant armed with a weapon," the agency said. "The perpetrator shows no remorse and is instead exploiting Nana's status as a public figure to inflict secondary harm. This is a clear anti-humanitarian act."

The agency added that while Nana had initially considered leniency given the suspect's age, the counter lawsuit has left them no choice but to pursue all available civil and criminal legal action.

Public reaction has been swift and overwhelmingly supportive of Nana. Online comments expressing outrage have flooded social media platforms, with netizens calling the counter lawsuit "absurd" and condemning the suspect for "framing the victim as the perpetrator."

"How can a robber counter-sue? It's shocking," one commenter wrote. Others noted, "She is suffering more because she is a celebrity" and "This is clear secondary harm—she must fight this legally until the end."

The case remains under investigation as authorities work to establish the full facts. SUBLIME Artist pledged to "responsibly address the situation to prevent further harm" and protect Nana's rights throughout the legal process.
