Choo Young Woo In Talks To Lead Ahn Pan Seok’s New Romance Drama With Kim So Hyun
Choo Young Woo is considering a lead role in ENA’s new drama Romance Expert (literal title). His agency shared that he has received an offer and is positively reviewing the project.
Helmed by director Ahn Pan Seok—known for acclaimed romance series like Something in the Rain, One Spring Night, and The Midnight Romance in Hagwon—the drama follows the heartfelt journey of a former swimmer who lost his left leg to illness and a woman who, after stepping away from her medical residency, finds a fresh start as a graduate student.
If cast, Choo Young Woo would portray Park Min Jae, who loses his sense of purpose after an osteosarcoma diagnosis leads to the amputation of his left leg. At his lowest point, he discovers robotics, and after four determined years, earns admission to Seoul National University’s Department of Mechanical Engineering. Though he appears unfazed on the surface, he’s wary of being hurt—and keeps “dating” on his bucket list.
Kim So Hyun is also in talks to play the female lead, Im Yoo Jin. With Ahn Pan Seok’s signature nuanced storytelling and this potential pairing, Romance Expert is already drawing attention as a quietly stirring, character-driven love story.
