[EP Review] LNGSHOT's Training Day

EP Review — March 2026

LNGSHOT's
Training Day

A glimpse into the rookie years — the second EP from More Vision's breakout boy group, chronicling the raw ambition and musical experiments of their trainee days.

23 March 2026 5 Tracks 13 Minutes More Vision

01 — Overview
The Scrapbook Before
the Spotlight

On 23 March 2026, LNGSHOT quietly dropped their second EP, Training Day — a charming five-track collection recorded during the members' trainee days, well before their official debut. Clocking in at just thirteen minutes, it's a brief but revealing look at the musical roots of one of K-pop's most promising new acts.

Unlike their debut EP Shot Callers, which arrived in January 2026 with a polished, confident edge, Training Day strips things back. The concept is refreshingly straightforward: four solo tracks — one from each member — followed by a group number. It's a record that foregrounds individuality, letting each member's personality and musical taste shine through without the pressure of a grand debut narrative.

The album sits apart from LNGSHOT's previous releases — the 4SHOBOIZ MIXTAPE and Shot Callers — offering a distinctly different sonic palette. Where those projects showcased the group as a unified force, Training Day is more of a scrapbook: honest, unguarded, and full of youthful ambition.

The EP opens with "Good Girls", a breezy R&B pop cut featuring Louis. Recorded when he was just fourteen, his youthful tone lends the track a wonderfully earnest quality that's hard to replicate. It's an early statement of intent from a vocalist who's clearly been refining his craft since adolescence.

▶ Listen — Good Girls (Louis)

Next up is "Boo Thang", Woojin's solo effort. With contributions from Jay Park and Cha Cha Malone, the track carries a trendy, laid-back energy that highlights Woojin's distinctive vocal colour. It's perhaps the most commercially polished track on the EP, hinting at the direction the group would eventually take.

▶ Listen — Boo Thang (Woojin)

Ohyul takes the reins on "Summer Eyes", the longest track on the EP at three minutes and twenty seconds — a languid, atmospheric piece that stretches out and breathes. His deep, expressive vocal sits beautifully over acoustic pop instrumentation, creating a warm and intimate atmosphere.

▶ Listen — Summer Eyes (Ohyul)

Ryul delivers "For Us", a compact gem running at just one minute forty-five seconds. Brief, but no less sincere — his candid lyrics stand out over an understated arrangement, making every second count.

▶ Listen — For Us (Ryul)

The EP closes with "Vanilla Days", the title track and the only group number. It brings all four members together, rounding off this deeply personal journey with a collective statement — a fitting full stop to a record built on individual expression.

It's not about perfection; it's about potential — and there's plenty of it here.

04 — Context
Who Are
LNGSHOT?

LNGSHOT are a four-member boy group under More Vision, the label founded by Jay Park. The group's name — a phonetic spelling of "Long Shot" — is a nod to their underdog spirit: the idea of taking a long shot and making it count. All four members — Ohyul, Ryul, Woojin, and Louis — are alumni of Hanlim Multi Art School, making them the first K-pop group whose entire line-up attended the same secondary school.

Releasing a second EP barely two months after their debut is a bold move for any rookie group, but Training Day doesn't feel rushed. If anything, it feels like something they've been sitting on for a while — a collection of early experiments finally seeing the light of day.

For fans wanting to trace LNGSHOT's artistic development from day one, this EP is essential listening. It captures a moment before the polish, before the choreography, before the comeback schedules — just four lads in a practice room, figuring out what kind of artists they want to become.
