Who Are BABYMONSTER
YG's Next Chapter, Already Ahead of the Curve
Seven members. Multiple languages. One relentless, uncompromising energy. BABYMONSTER — or BAEMON, as their MONSTIEZ call them — arrived as YG Entertainment's third major girl group following 2NE1 and BLACKPINK, and they've spent two years establishing that this is their own story, not a sequel to someone else's.
Since their full-group debut in April 2024, they've entered the Billboard 200, sold out a world tour across 32 shows, and consistently drawn from a broader musical palette than the standard YG blueprint suggested. Ruka, Pharita, Asa, Ahyeon, Rora, and Chiquita have been building something specific. CHOOM is the next piece of it.
The Journey So Far
From Batter Up to CHOOM
Two years. Four eras. A sound still revealing itself — which is exactly why this album matters so much right now.
November 2023
BATTER UP — Pre-Debut Single
Six members, one punishing opening statement. Before their official debut, BABYMONSTER were already breaking Hanteo records. The international buzz arrived within days.
April 2024
BABYMONS7ER — 1st Mini Album · "SHEESH"
All seven together for the first time. Ahyeon's return completed the group. SHEESH hit the Circle Chart top ten; the Charlie Puth-gifted Like That hinted at something beyond the polished YG surface. Over 460,000 pre-orders placed — a record-breaking debut.
November 2024
DRIP — 1st Full Album · "DRIP"
The record that made critics reconsider. Billboard 200. A second Circle Chart top-ten hit. The group called this title track "most representative of their true colour." 820,000 first-week orders — nearly double their debut album in the same timeframe.
October 2025
WE GO UP — 2nd Mini Album
A tight four-track showcase that leaned fully into live performance power. Their Hello Monsters world tour drew over 400,000 fans across 32 shows. The MONSTIEZ were ready for what comes next.
May 2026 — Coming Now
CHOOM — 3rd Mini Album ✦ Up Next
A racing car tears across a vast sandy road. The word 춤 — dance — burns itself into the asphalt. Yang Hyun-suk promises "a new album unlike anything shown before." Full tracklist to be announced.
Rami's Hiatus — and What It Means for This Comeback
Member Rami remains on a health-related hiatus and was unable to participate in CHOOM's recording and production — the second consecutive album where this has been the case. Ahead of this comeback announcement, MONSTIEZ have been rallying publicly behind her recovery across X (Twitter) and Instagram with notable warmth. At the same time, the simultaneous reveal of BABYMONSTER's 2026–2027 world tour — launching in Seoul before spanning Asia, Europe, and the Americas from June — has turned this into a moment many fans are treating as both a comeback and a world tour prologue. The energy coming into CHOOM's pre-order period is unusually high even by BABYMONSTER's own standards.
The Concept
What Does CHOOM Mean — and Why Does It Matter?
춤 means dance in Korean. It is the most direct title BABYMONSTER have used, and it carries full intent. YG describes CHOOM as capturing "the thrilling moments of becoming one with music and dance" — which is less a concept brief and more a declaration about who these performers are at their core.
The motion teaser commits entirely: a racing car accelerates to a thunderous beat, its trail carving the CHOOM logo into the road. There is nothing soft about the visual language. The Crimson, Metallic, and Prism edition names suggest a palette that is bold, multifaceted, and physically distinct — the kind of colour vocabulary you reach for when the music is going to hit hard.
Yang Hyun-suk has described this as "a new album unlike anything shown before." Given that DRIP already marked a genuine sonic pivot, that statement is worth taking seriously. Full tracklist details will be updated here once announced.
Available Versions
Three Formats. One Comeback.
CHOOM arrives in three distinct physical formats — Photobook, Jewel Case, and Plush Keyring — each designed as its own collector experience. The Jewel Case and Plush Keyring versions come in member-specific designs, giving every MONSTI a version that's genuinely theirs.
Previous Edition — Context
WE GO UP Already Showed Where This Was Going
When WE GO UP dropped in October 2025, its Beam Keyring QR version was one of the most distinctive physical formats in the lineup — replacing the traditional CD with a QR Card, a member-specific keyring, Film Photocards, and Unit Photocards. It was the kind of album-as-object thinking that set BABYMONSTER apart from their YG predecessors. CHOOM's Plush Keyring version takes that same logic further, pairing the QR format with a full plush character keyring per member. It is a clear evolution — and one that makes the keyring album format feel like a BABYMONSTER signature rather than a one-off experiment.

Plush Keyring Ver. — The Edition That Gets It Right
If CHOOM is an album about dance, movement, and physical presence, the Plush Keyring version is the edition that embodies that most literally. At just £13 for the member-select option, it is also SOOJIB's best-value entry into this comeback. Where the Photobook gives you the full visual archive and the Jewel Case gives you a beautifully packaged CD, the Plush Keyring version takes a different path entirely — a QR Card, a member-specific plush character, 8 Film Photocards, and 2 Unit Photocards. Building directly on what WE GO UP's Beam Keyring version started, this is BABYMONSTER making the format their own. For a comeback called Dance, it is the right pick.
