Park Bo Young, Kim Sung Cheol, and Lee Hyun Wook Collide Over Smuggled Gold in Disney+ Thriller “Gold Land”
Disney+ has unveiled the first look at its upcoming series “Gold Land,” introduced on stage by director Kim Sung Hoon alongside leads Park Bo Young, Kim Sung Cheol, and Lee Hyun Wook at the Disney+ Originals Preview 2025 in Hong Kong.
The drama tracks Kim Hee Joo (Park Bo Young), an international airport security screening officer who unexpectedly finds herself holding gold bars linked to a smuggling ring. As danger closes in, the people around her—and her own conscience—are tested by greed, fear, and the allure of an easy escape.
Character dynamics sharpen the tension:
Park Bo Young as Kim Hee Joo — a diligent officer whose accidental windfall forces her to confront a creeping temptation that could change her life.
Kim Sung Cheol as Jang Wook (Woo Gi) — a survival-minded debt collector who discovers the gold’s new owner and draws near under the guise of help, keeping his own agenda close.
Lee Hyun Wook as Lee Do Kyung — a co-pilot and Hee Joo’s lover, the unwitting link to the smuggling operation whose true motives remain tantalizingly unclear.
“Gold Land” promises a twisting game of pursuit and desire—asking viewers not just who will claim the gold, but what it costs to want it. The series is slated to premiere on Disney+ in 2026.
