Lee Yi Kyung’s Agency Moves Forward With Firm Legal Action Against Malicious Rumors
Sangyoung ENT has announced decisive legal steps in response to escalating malicious rumors and the spread of false information about actor Lee Yi Kyung.
According to the agency, evidence has been compiled and criminal complaints have been filed through its legal representative with the Seoul Gangnam Police Station against those who authored and distributed defamatory content. The company underscored that it has neither sought nor will it consider any form of settlement or compensation discussions.
The agency stated it will continue to monitor defamatory postings that damage the actor’s character and reputation and will proceed with legal action without leniency. Emphasizing today’s climate of fabricated information and distorted facts, Sangyoung ENT pledged to protect its artist’s rights and honor while working to minimize harm from baseless speculation.
The update follows an incident in October, when an individual on social media claimed they would “expose the real Lee Yi Kyung,” uploading purported private chat logs and photos that sparked controversy. After the agency’s initial response, the person apologized, described the posts as a “joke,” and deleted the content. As unfounded rumors persisted, the agency opted to pursue stronger legal measures.
