The solo era goes physical

If you've been tracking ATEEZ Mingi's solo run with anything close to the obsession it deserves, this one's been a long time coming. FIX OFF Desire Project : ORIGIN is Mingi's first full-sized 12-inch LP, stepping up from the 7-inch Fix On/Off birthday pressing in 2024. It's the format the [FIX OFF] series was always quietly building toward.

This isn't a one-off solo single dressed up in nice packaging. ORIGIN compiles the tracks Mingi has been writing, composing, and producing himself since February 2024, when he dropped "Tunnel" and quietly started telling a story across a series of self-released self-composed tracks. Two-plus years on, it lives on a grey marble disc.

The Desire Project, in case you're catching up

Quick recap for anyone who's been ATEEZ-only and is just tuning into the solo work. The Desire Project is Mingi's ongoing self-produced series, launched February 2024, where he uploads his own compositions outside of ATEEZ's main releases. He's credited across lyrics, composition, arrangement, and chorus on every release to date. This isn't an idol releasing a vanity solo. It's a rapper-producer documenting his own arc, in his own voice. ORIGIN is the moment all of that gets canonised on vinyl.

The tracklist

Side A reads like the timeline of the project itself, three Desire Project chapters in release order. Side B is the new territory, including the Gaeko collab fans were manifesting in 2024 group chats. Let's go through them.

Side A · The Desire Project, in order

The track that brought the [FIX OFF] series into ATEEZ's main discography, via GOLDEN HOUR : Part.3 'In Your Fantasy Edition' in July 2025. KQ describes the production as a rage and techno crossover, and that's exactly what it sounds like: a hard-hitting hook, Mingi's signature shout, and lyrics aimed squarely at anyone who ever doubted ATEEZ's stadium-filling credibility. Self-written, self-composed, self-produced. Since July it's been Mingi's solo set piece on the IN YOUR FANTASY world tour, and it absolutely earns its A-side opener slot here.

The origin point of the entire project, dropped February 2024. An emo-rock track where Mingi sat with his anxiety and self-doubt out loud, writing lyrics that felt closer to a journal entry than an idol release. The MV puts him alone at the centre of an industrial-grey corridor, and the production strips back to let the voice carry the weight. It's the most quietly devastating track in his solo catalogue, and it's the reason the rest of the [FIX OFF] series exists.

The story picks up a year later. AUTOBAHN dropped March 2025, and where Tunnel was the storm, this one is what the air feels like after it passes. Self-confidence, forward motion, the acceleration metaphor in the title. TOUCHED's vocalist-guitarist Yunmin rides shotgun, and her power vocal against Mingi's brutal rap creates the kind of contrast that earns the song its place on the IN YOUR FANTASY tour setlist alongside ROAR. Hearing Tunnel into AUTOBAHN into ROAR on side A, in sequence, is the whole point of putting the Desire Project on vinyl.

Side B · New territory

This is the bridge between Mingi's solo universe and ATEEZ as a group. The original "Adrenaline" is the title track from ATEEZ's GOLDEN HOUR : Part.4, released February 2026. The FIX ON Ver. is Mingi's solo rework, repurposing the heavy EDM cut into the FIX OFF context. The Dance Practice (FIX Ver.) below puts Mingi at the centre, which gives a sense of how the track plays in his solo register: same engine, different driver.

The headline collab on the LP. Gaeko (yes, that Gaeko, of Dynamic Duo) and Royal 44 trade bars with Mingi on a brand-new track exclusive to ORIGIN. Mingi crossing into Korean hip-hop's older guard is exactly the kind of move the Desire Project signalled it was capable of from "Tunnel" onwards. We'll be reaching for this one second-listen-onwards.

The closer. Another new track exclusive to the LP, with its instrumental laid bare on the run-out groove right after. The fact that Mingi chose to print the inst version on side B suggests the production itself is the point — production credits readers know they've earned by now.

If we're picking favourites, our money's on "NOVA". Gaeko on a Mingi track is the kind of thing fans were manifesting in 2024 group chats, and it's actually here. It's also the track that signals what the [FIX OFF] series can grow into past its first chapter, which makes it the right note to leave the vinyl on, side B, mid-spin.

"ROAR" is the obvious title-track moment, and it absolutely earns it. But "NOVA" is the one we'll be reaching for after the first listen settles.
