Five acts. One time slot. Six o'clock Korean time, ten in the morning here in London. ZEROBASEONE return as five, Jay Park and LNGSHOT roll out a joint mixtape, TAEYANG breaks a nine-year wait, TAEYONG releases his first proper full album, and ITZY come back with mini number twelve. ZEROBASEONE — Ascend- (6th Mini Album)

ZEROBASEONE arrive at Ascend- as a five-member group for the first time, and that's the headline. Sung Hanbin, Kim Jiwoong, Seok Matthew, Kim Taerae, Park Gunwook. The album's mountain-climbing metaphor isn't subtle, and it doesn't need to be. The point is to mark a line between everything before and everything next.

The pre-release of the TOP 5 music video at midnight KST on release day is unusual pacing for a mini album cycle, which says quite a lot about how WAKEONE is positioning this comeback. Concept photos lean into a more mature, chic register, a clear step away from the brighter palettes of BLUE PARADISE and NEW KIDZ ON THE BLOCK. ZEROSE get a slightly different group this time, and the music seems set to follow.

Jay Park & LNGSHOT — 4SHOBOIZ Vol. 2: 4SHOVILLE (Mixtape)

The 4SHOBOIZ project is back, and Vol. 2 brings Jay Park and LNGSHOT together properly. 4SHOVILLE is framed as a full world rather than a one-off collab tape, which makes sense given how the rollout has played out. 4SHO 4SHO dropped on 11 May as the opening salvo, YEAH! YEAH! followed on 15 May, and both videos lean into the same energy: easy chemistry, unforced swagger, the kind of joint project that exists because the two artists actually wanted to make it.

For UK and EU heads who've been tracking LNGSHOT through the Training Day era and the ARENA HOMME+ editorial, this mixtape sits as a natural next chapter. The MOREVISION roster keeps building, and Jay Park's involvement is less a co-sign and more a peer-level link-up.

TAEYANG — QUINTESSENCE (4th Full Album)

Nine years between White Night (2017) and QUINTESSENCE (2026). That gap means something. TAEYANG's fourth full album lands in the same year BIGBANG turns twenty, the same month the group plays a 20th anniversary world tour announcement at Coachella, and the same season G-DRAGON's solo run continues. The timing isn't accidental.

The feature list does a lot of talking on its own. The Kid LAROI brings a Western pop crossover TAEYANG hasn't done at this scale before. Woochan and Tarzzan from ALLDAY PROJECT keep the THE BLACK LABEL family close. The Q-angel motif on the album art is built for a record framed around essence and core identity, which is the polite way of saying TAEYANG is making the album he wants to make at the moment he wants to make it.

TAEYONG — WYLD (1st Full Album) 🥊

TAEYONG's first full-length solo album drops as part of NCT's tenth anniversary NCT 2026 rollout, but WYLD is its own thing. Ten tracks, a stated mix of EDM-based house and old-school hip-hop, and a clear move away from the more cinematic, narrative-led approach of SHALALA and TAP. The pre-release STORM performance video on 11 May made the priorities obvious: choreography first, mood second, everything else after.

For NCTzen tracking TAEYONG as a solo artist since 2023, WYLD is the album that asks to be measured at full-length scale. Mini albums are easy to position. A first proper full record is harder, and far more revealing.

ITZY — Motto (12th Mini Album)

Six months on from TUNNEL VISION, ITZY return with their twelfth mini album, and Motto is the most deliberately constructed comeback they've put together in some time. Eight tracks total, with five solo songs lifted directly from the world tour stages where they were first performed. The trailer, directed by French visual director Léa Esmaili, sets a surrealist circus tone that the concept photos have been quietly building since late April.

ITZY's Motto era arrives off the back of a genuinely unusual viral moment earlier this year, when the dance practice for That's A No No, a 2020 B-side that had never been performed live until the Seoul tour opener, topped YouTube Korea's daily trending music video chart. Motto reads as ITZY leaning into that catalogue confidence, not away from it.
