Jung Kyung Ho, So Ju Yeon, and a Lively Ensemble Shine at “Pro Bono” Script Reading
tvN has offered a first look at its upcoming courtroom drama “Pro Bono,” revealing crackling chemistry and confident performances at the initial script reading. The series follows a success-driven judge who unexpectedly pivots to public interest work, winding up in the corner office of a big law firm’s pro bono team—with zero revenue and a lot to prove.
Helmed by director Kim Sung Yoon (Itaewon Class, Love in the Moonlight) and written by Moon Yoo Seok (The Devil Judge), the project pairs two creative heavyweights known for character-forward storytelling and sharp, contemporary pacing.
Cast Highlights
Jung Kyung Ho transforms into Kang David, a former judge turned full-time pro bono lawyer. He channels the character’s inner turmoil with witty beats and a grounded vulnerability that hints at a compelling fall-and-rise arc.
So Ju Yeon plays Park Ki Bbeum, a bright, fearless “law enthusiast” whose curiosity and spark energize the team dynamic from the jump.
Yoon Na Moo (Jang Young Sil), Seo Hye Won (Yoo Nan Hee), and Kang Hyung Suk (Hwang Joon Woo) round out the pro bono unit, teasing easy banter and distinct personalities that promise lively, character-driven momentum.
Early impressions point to a tone that blends humor with realistic legal stakes, with the cast settling into their rhythms quickly and an ensemble synergy that feels tailor-made for both catharsis and crowd-pleasing moments.
