Lee Junho In Talks To Lead New Installment of Blockbuster Franchise “Veteran”
2PM’s Lee Junho is in discussions to headline the upcoming film tentatively titled Veteran 3, primed to inject fresh star power into the hit action–crime franchise.
Per industry reports, the production team has extended the offer, and his agency O3 Collective says he is positively reviewing the role. Guided by director Ryoo Seung-wan, the Veteran series centers on ace detective Seo Do-chul (Hwang Jung-min) and his dogged pursuit of high-profile criminals.
The franchise’s box-office pedigree speaks for itself: the 2015 original surpassed 13 million admissions, while the recent sequel I, the Executioner raced past 7 million despite a challenging theater landscape.
Narratively, expectations are high after the previous film’s end-credit tease revealed the escape of villain Park Sun-woo (Jung Hae-in), setting the stage for a high-stakes showdown in the next chapter.
Junho is currently on screen in tvN’s Typhoon Family and is set for Netflix’s Cashero, underscoring his rise from idol favorite to bona fide leading man. If his casting is confirmed, it would bring a dynamic new axis to the Veteran universe—and potentially supercharge the franchise’s global momentum.
