Jeon So Nee and Lee Yoo Mi Open Up About Their Intense New Drama “As You Stood By”

Jeon So Nee and Lee Yoo Mi are set to lead “As You Stood By,” a tension-filled thriller that tracks the bond between two friends cornered by violence and fear—and the irreversible choice they make to reclaim their lives.
Jeon So Nee plays Eun Su, a luxury department store employee burdened by long-held scars. When she recognizes a familiar pain in her close friend Hui Su, she steps into the line of fire, determined to protect her no matter the cost.
Lee Yoo Mi portrays Hui Su, once a promising children’s book author whose world has unraveled under domestic abuse. With Eun Su at her side, she fights to break the cycle—and together they plot a harrowing escape that tests the limits of loyalty and survival.
Speaking about her role, Jeon So Nee shared that channeling Eun Su meant tapping into the fierce courage that can surface when you’re fighting for someone else. Lee Yoo Mi added that she approached Hui Su with clear-eyed honesty, focusing on the character’s inner world without judgment.
The production hints at a story of solidarity under fire: two women standing shoulder to shoulder to claw their way out of personal hells—and the desperate decisions that follow.
