⭐️ Guide to Participating in Video Call Events by KakaoTalk

Joining video call events via KakaoTalk is a fun way to connect with your favorite stars! 🌟 Here’s a simple step-by-step guide to help you get started and highlight the differences between using an iPhone and an Android device.

📋 Detail Guide

  1. Download and Install KakaoTalk:
Make sure the latest version of KakaoTalk is installed on your device. You can find it on the App Store (for iPhone users) or Google Play Store (for Android users).

  2. Create or Log In to Your KakaoTalk Account:
Open the app and log in with your details. If you don’t have an account yet, you can easily set one up using your phone number.

  3. Make Your KakaoTalk ID Searchable:
Follow the screenshots below to ensure your ID is searchable. This is a crucial step for the organiser to locate you.

  4. Receive Event Details:
SOOJIB will always send a direct message (DM) on Instagram to notify the final winners, providing them with essential information. Specific details like the date, time, and the KakaoTalk ID of the organiser (who will handle the call) are usually sent directly to you via email by the organiser. Sometimes, we may also share this information with you, depending on the organiser's instructions.

  5. Add the Organiser’s Contact:
Once you receive the KakaoTalk ID (via email or Instagram DM from the organizer or us), add it to your contacts. Go to the ‘Friends’ tab, tap the ‘+’ icon, and choose ‘Add by ID’.

  6. Get Ready for Your Video Call with the Artist:
✅ Most organizers require the call to be one-on-one. If anyone else is with you, your call could be disqualified and terminated.
Make sure you have a stable internet connection.
Choose a quiet, well-lit spot for your call.
Ensure your device is fully charged or connected to a power source. ✨ Double-check the event date and time, and convert it to your local time zone, as all times are provided in KST (Korea Standard Time).
Test Call: We highly recommend making a test video call on KakaoTalk with a friend. This will let you check your internet connection, lighting, screen recording, and other key aspects.

📱 Differences Between Using and Screen Recording on iPhone and Android: While the process of joining a KakaoTalk video call event is generally the same across both platforms, there are some important differences regarding screen recording:

* iPhone:
Please note 📌 that each supplier may have official regulations, including restrictions on recording. Thank you for your understanding! 😊

🚨 Screen Recording Restrictions: iOS does not allow screen recording to start before the call begins, as it has privacy protections to prevent unauthorized recordings.
📹 How to Record During a Call: To record, you’ll need to start screen recording once the call has begun. Swipe down to open the Control Center and tap the screen recording icon.
🎙️ Record Audio Separately: Since iPhone screen recording does not capture audio, we suggest recording the sound on another device, such as a laptop, another phone, or an iPad.

Android:
Please note 📌 that each supplier may have official regulations, including restrictions on recording. Thank you for your understanding! 😊

✅Screen Recording Capabilities: Android devices offer more flexibility, allowing you to start recording before the call begins.

📹🎙️ How to Record: Use the built-in screen recording feature (if available) or a third-party app. Start the recording and then initiate your KakaoTalk video call. Unlike iPhones, most Android devices can record both audio and video, but be sure to double-check your settings.

🫧 Tips for a Smooth Experience:

  • Test Your Setup: Before the event, run a test video call with a friend to ensure everything is working properly.
  • Close Unnecessary Apps: Close other apps to avoid disruptions and improve performance during the call.
  • Adjust Notifications: Mute any unnecessary notifications to prevent them from popping up during the call. Be careful not to mute KakaoTalk notifications, as you’ll need to receive alerts when they call you.

By following these steps and being aware of device-specific differences, you can have a smooth and enjoyable video call experience on KakaoTalk.
