SIX MEMBERS, SIX CHARACTERS, ONE WISH CORE

NCT WISH's debut, where Wish Core began.

Right, let us talk about the cutest corner of the NCT universe. NCT WISH debuted in February 2024 as the Tokyo based sixth unit of NCT, six members deep: Sion, Riku, Yushi, Jaehee, Ryo and Sakuya. And from day one they leaned all the way into a soft, sparkly, wings and stars aesthetic the fandom now calls Wish Core. No notes.

The genius bit? The members did not just get assigned a mascot by a design team. They sat down and drew their own characters by hand, named them, and gave them little personalities. That is the WISH DOLL line, and it is the whole reason this post lives in Character Lab. If you have ever seen a Sizzny pull a plush out of a star shaped bag on the tube and wondered what on earth was happening, this is your guide.

FIRST, MEET THE MOTHER: WICHU

Before the individual dolls, there is the group symbol. WICHU is the little star shaped character with wings, and the name is WISH plus "chuu", the Korean onomatopoeia for a kiss. It turns up everywhere: music videos, album packaging, merch, socials. It is basically the face of the whole worldview, and it ate every single time. WICHU even got a glow up into a new version called Popchu alongside a recent comeback, so the lore keeps growing.

That wings plus star combo is the thing to remember. It is the visual DNA every WISH DOLL borrows from, and it is what makes the whole range feel like one coherent world rather than six random plushies.

Sioning 🌷 (Sion)

Sion is the leader and the eldest, and his character carries that elegant, put together energy. The tulip is his symbol because of the soft, flower like quality of his visuals, and Sioning leans into exactly that. It is the most "main character of a soft launch" doll of the set, and it fits crazy.

Kuri 🐈⬛ (Riku)

Riku raps, and on stage he is all sharp and chic, so the black cat makes total sense. But the gap is the whole point. Off stage he is playful and giggly, more squirrel than panther, which is why the squirrel emoji follows him around too. That on stage versus off stage contrast is the single most talked about thing about Kuri, and honestly it is peak reverse charm. The name is a cheeky bonus: "kuri" means chestnut in Japanese.

Bubblenyang 🐈 (Yushi)

Main dancer, commanding presence, the works. His doll mashes up bubble tea and "nyang", the cat meow sound, into one very soft package. The sneaky design detail: cover the ears and Bubblenyang suddenly reads like a little seal. Two animals for the price of one, serving range.

Daengtriever 🌳 (Jaehee)

Main vocalist, certified puppy of the group. The name stitches together "Daeng" from his birth name Daeyoung and the retriever breed, which sums up the loyal, warm, golden energy perfectly. His emoji is a tree, chosen to represent room to grow and the kind of steady support he gives the members and the fans. Daengtriever even has a little tree shaped tail. It is all very wholesome and yes, we are emotional about it.

RyonRyon 🐶 (Ryo)

Ryo is a sub vocalist and one of the babies of the group, and his doll has the best backstory of the lot. RyonRyon is a puppy based on TonTon, a doll he loved as a child, and that doll even made it into the Wishful Winter music video. So the plush is basically a piece of Ryo's actual childhood, which is why fans are so soft for it. The lore writes itself.

Pang 🌹 (Sakuya)

The maknae. Pang is pure mischief, and the running joke in the fandom is that Sakuya's beaming face is literally the happy TikTok emoji come to life. It is the kind of inside joke that makes a character feel like a friend rather than merch, and it is a big part of why Pang travels so well online.

THE SPIN OFF: WISHNINI

Here is where it gets extra. In 2026 the WISH DOLL gang got the minini treatment through a collaboration with IPX, the LINE FRIENDS studio, and the result is wishnini. Think chibier, rounder, even more squeezable versions of the originals: Sioning becomes Sionini, Kuri becomes Kurinini, and so on across all six. They launched at the wishnini house pop up and the plush keyrings and string pouches sold like mad.

For us this is the proper lineage moment. A character set that started as six members doodling their own mascots has grown into a full IP that a major studio wants to remix. That is rare, and it is exactly the kind of homegrown to global glow up we love to track.

WHY SIZZNY CANNOT STOP COLLECTING

The character bags are the main event. The members were spotted carrying the big plush bags themselves, the kind that looks like the doll is giving you a hug, and that was that. Timelines filled up with people pulling their keys and cards out of a Kuri's head on public transport, and "the day I get my hands on the wish dolls it is over for all my other bags" became a whole mood. Unboxing videos are their own genre at this point.

It works because the dolls are not generic. Each one carries a real detail about the member who drew it, so collecting a WISH DOLL feels like collecting a tiny piece of bias lore. That is the difference between merch you buy once and a character you actually fall for. Delulu? Maybe. Right? Also yes.
